Open Access Policy

The UVP-report supports Open Access, i.e. free access to scientific publications. Since 2024, the scientific articles in the UVP-report have been published as Diamond Open Access.

This means that the articles become freely available online after peer review and acceptance by the editor-in-chief as soon as an accepted galley proof is available (online first). Authors are allowed to distribute them freely. The digital version is accessible free of charge and may be distributed.

Advantages for authors include:

- Free access for all users worldwide,

- no article processing charges,

- authors retain all rights to their work,

- increased visibility and readership.

All articles in the UVP-report are published under the CC BY 4.0 DE license and are thus accessible to anyone in full text, but without neglecting the rights of the authors. They may archive the publisher's version of their article as long as the conditions of the CC BY 4.0 DE license are complied with. Publishing in open access also ensures the scientific quality of the contributions through the peer review process as well as the editorial control.

The contributions in question may be downloaded, stored, printed and distributed. If the full text is shared, this must always be done with full citation and indication of the DOI as well as the license.

An open access article may not be printed or republished for commercial purposes under the CC BY 4.0 DE license without the consent of the publisher and the corresponding author(s). The authors shall retain all other copyright and full publication rights without restriction.

With Diamond Open Access, there are neither Article Processing Charges (APC) nor submission fees.

Remuneration for published articles is not possible. No guarantee can be given for submitted manuscripts.
